About

We perceive a narrow band of what is actually here. I’m here to find out what the rest of it is doing.

Emily, founder of Noumena House

What started with audio engineering took me down a surprising path over the last 15+ years. Working with sound gave me the opportunity to understand the perspective of frequency manipulation from a recording studio that over time transformed into the human body.

In school I was researching sound that exists beyond the spectrum we can perceive — the part of it that never reaches you as hearing, and goes on acting anyway. That is where I learned the thing that changed how I saw everything afterward: frequency affects everything. I couldn’t get past that the physics refused to stay in the studio. Entrainment, interference, phase, standing waves — the same mathematics found throughout so much of the world around me. The reason a cathedral feels enormous and the reason a forest feels like medicine turned out to be the same reason, and I couldn’t seem to find anyone to explain the questions I had.

At the same time, I was trying to put myself back together.

I wasn’t just reading to have an opinion. I was reading because I needed something to actually work. So learning and healing became the same activity. I would find something, try it on myself, watch what happened, and follow whatever came out of it into the next field.

Which is how one diploma in audio engineering turned into years spent inside psychology, spirituality, neuroscience, somatics, breathwork, biofield science, quantum physics, the history of sound as medicine and anything else I could find. I followed where the questions went, and I kept following because the answers kept being more and more profound.

From spending years looking for answers that weren’t obvious and weren’t indexed anywhere, I developed a view wide enough to watch the same pattern surface in fields that never speak to each other. Cultures separated by oceans and millennia landing on the same conclusions about frequency. Modern laboratories confirming them with different instruments and different words.

The distance between ancient knowledge and modern science isn’t a gap in understanding. It’s a gap in translation. Both sides are holding pieces the other needs.

Noumena House serves the translation.

“At the root of all power and motion, there is music and rhythm, the play of patterned frequencies against the matrix of time. Every particle in the physical universe takes its characteristics from the pitch and pattern and overtones of its particular frequencies, its singing. Before we make music, music makes us.”

Joachim-Ernst Berendt

What I do

I research, translate and share what I’ve found.

Between peer-reviewed studies, the historical record and emerging science — I find where what was practiced meets what is now provable.

Through sessions and small groups, I guide people into direct experience and deepening using sound, breath and the body.

The name

Noumena.

The noumenon is the thing as it actually is, beneath how it appears. The reality under perception. The signal under the noise.
